5-door version of Force Gurkha revealed in India

Force Motors today (April 29) has revealed the 5-door version of the off-roader SUV Gurkha. This 7-seater SUV will be launched next month. The company has started booking the car. Customers can book it from the official dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000.

The new Gurkha will also get a 425mm longer wheelbase than the 3-door version. Prices for the Force Gurkha 5-door could start at Rs 16 lakh, while the 3-door Gurkha currently has a starting price of Rs 5.10 lakh.

Force Motors is offering 3 years/1.5 lakh km warranty with Gurkha, which includes 4 free services and 1 year free roadside assistance. After launch, the 5-door Gurkha will compete in the segment with the upcoming Thar 5-door and Maruti Jimny.

Gurkha 5-Door: Exterior Design

The Gurkha 5-door has a boxy design like the 3-door model, but gets two extra doors and a longer wheelbase. The front of the car features circular LED headlights with LED DRLs with cornering and follow-me-home functions. A two-slat grille is provided between the two headlights, which has Gurkha badging. Below the grille is a stylish black bumper, with a small air dam in the middle and round fog lamps on either side.

Its length has been increased in the side profile. It has square wheel arches, factory fitted snowcurls, roof rake (optional) and new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. It gets 4x4 badging on the rear fender. At the rear of the car, you can see a tailgate mounted spare wheel, ladder to access the roof rake, LED taillights, Gurkha and Force branding. The car will come with four color options. This includes green, red, white and black colors.

Force Gurkha 5-Door: Interior Update

The dashboard of the Force Gurkha 5-door model is similar to the old model, but it gets a new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity in place of the 7.0-inch unit. Noticeable updates in the cabin include extra seating rows and updated upholstery. The 5-door Gurkha has bench seats in the second row and captain seats in the third row.

Talking about the features, it has digital driver display, powered ORVM, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, manual AC with roof mounted rear vents and all power windows. For passenger safety, the car gets dual front airbags, three-point seat belts, traction control, hill-hold assist and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with a rear camera, which also monitors the pressure of the spare tire mounted on the tailgate. New Gurkha will come with 4 wheel drive option

The Force Gurkha 5-door model has a 2.6-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, which is available in the 3-door version. The company has retuned this engine and increased its power by 50%. It now generates power of 140PS instead of 90PS and torque of 320Nm instead of 250Nm.

The company has taken this engine from Mercedes. It has an auto start-stop system which increases the mileage of the new Gurkha. This makes the Inzer Gurkha more powerful than the Mahindra Thar, which has a 2.2-litre diesel engine generating 132hp power and 300Nm torque.

For transmission, the Gurkha 5-door will continue to get a four-wheel-drivetrain with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a low-range transfer case. There is a shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob located next to the driver's seat on its center console. Automatic gearbox is also available in Thar.
